Sensitive

Was chatting with a friend this morning and the subject of AA and Alanon came up -- strangely -- I was very sensitive talking about it. Not sure why. I think maybe it is because it seems that I've been dealing with issues surrounding alcohol for so long that I'm feeling beaten by it at times. There was also some mention of the fact that I had a connection on her for a drink recipe of the day --- which I guess if you are recovering it is not the type of thing you would want to see on a blog.

In the meantime - I had a great swim this morning and planning on a walk on my lunch hour --- weather is finally improving. Spring is here!

Afternoons

I'm getting to be such an endorphine junky!!! I've been swimming this week mornings --- Mon., Wed., and got so high on getting things right that the rest of the day seems like such a let down. Then I either need to run or ride on my lunch hour or after work to get that kind of high again!

I guess now I understand what drives most of us to work out as much as we do. Today is a "boys lunch" day --- and I got a call around 3:00 that my SO was home and very sleepy. I can handle sleepy, it's grumpy and irritable when I get home that I can't handle. I spend most of the afternoon anticipating an argument when I get home --- today I'm planning a walk with the "girls" (puppies) as soon as I get home.

The weather today is 83 degrees and sunny --- yahoo!!

Try again

We r at it again.....or just continuing same argument? Talking thru the news...I'm supposed to b more interested. He's interested in what I do!

Dogs

Well, now things have "Gone to the dogs" so to speak. LOL. Last night on way home all I heard about was how bad things are with two dogs. Now, mind you, it was a Poker day --- so cleaned on Sunday and prepped (for him) and he slept in the morning yesterday --- only to rush around just before Poker was to start. Now, the dogs are to blame for a mess - tore into brand new bed spread --- and Marla barked all day.

I don't know what the solution is --- I do not really want to give her back to Homewardbound.....and by the time I got home after X-bike things were a little better. Attitude was a little better. I spent some time stitching the comforter.

Today --- when I checked in --- dogs had attacked comforter again --- guess it's better than furniture -- but I'm afraid that is next. Marla is obviously still a puppy --- and she is eating POO! We need to stop that -- vet gave us something for it after her last incident of opening a bottle of pills --- that was another story!

They are so cute and sweet --- I'm thinking obedience training --- and that means my giving up more time......and I am in training a lot for triathlon. I know that I will get a fight if I try to start obedience training for Marla -- but I think it is what needs to be done to settle her down.

We'll see.

Updates

Crystal Lake went well --- I ran at the end --- it poured rain all day. Probably was the cause of my second stress fracture ---

We loved Hawaii --- My foot was sore the whole time there so not a lot of walking for me -- but we swam a lot and dove (scuba) twice....really neat!

The place we stayed in was beautiful and relaxing. The only things missing were barbecues and a decent breakfast. Otherwise we would definitely stay there again. Beautiful location in Wailea, Maui.

Here we are on a sunset sail in Maui, HI --- 2009

Bike Enthusiast

My latest thing is volunteering at running races. Since I've been sidelined from running because of Stress Fractures in my feet --- I have been doing more biking. This weekend I'm an escort for a 15K bike race -- Stockade-athon. Should be fun --- I get to ride in front of the lead runners and just behind the police escort. I'm kind of excited about it --- will only be two of us.

DH is probably volunteering as a course marshall --- also an interesting job -- but more standing around. I love biking and this will help keep me in shape having to stay ahead of the runners.
