Scarborough Beach

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Rhode Island with the "boys", Niki and Scott and Greg and Tina. G&T left on Sunday and the rest of us came back Tuesday. It was rainy Tuesday a.m. -- but not too bad -- had almost stopped when we were packing up. We had a beautiful mostly sunny weekend --- cold nights --- but we were able to sit around the camp fire each night. The 'boys' thought everything was one big adventure which made if fun for all of us. I think they will have fond memories of camping.

I ran for the first time on Scarborough Beach --- pretty incredible since I've been going to that area since we were kids --- and I'm turning 50 this year. I was so excited that I stopped and took a picture of myself.

Memorial Day Weekend

So far today has been pretty good --- hubby is on the road for Hertz and I'm in the office til 2:00. Then off to the dentist and errands. He has been pretty pleasant on the phone --- the weather is dreary --- cold rainy......I hope that it travels East before we get to RI tomorrow. It is supposed to clear up this afternoon. I am SO looking forward to going to RI --- one of my favorite places....Our favorite places. I just hope that we can get along this weekend. I think I'm the one who is starting a lot of this --- by not keeping my mouth shut when I find something annoying. Have to remember to just grin and bear it. Need to get out for more running --- it really helps me. We were fighting last night -- and I didn't run yesterday. Puts me in a 'mood' I guess. The weather is supposed to improve......

One-sided

This is the start of the blog ---- We were having a nice time packing and discussing what we would do over the memorial day weekend...........................cooked dinner -- nothing fancy. I think it started with discussing things in the paper --- a lot of politics -- nothing new --- hubby is into that --- I am not. So I tried to pay attention for a while, and finally said "please don't keep talking politics, I'm reading some other subject matter (food in this case). One of my main reasons for starting this blog is because I may not remember the details of our latest argument in the morning. Like a diary.....typical blogger. We went from not talking politics to talking about the fact that his son and his new wife are pregnant and worried about having Downs syndrome baby.....she is 41 --- (too many details to list). Then we said that if anything were to happen where she felt she couldn't deal with the new baby if it were Downs' === would we take the baby. Now we go from that to hubby suggesting that if we could take that baby why wouldn't we just adopt......some background. He is 61 --- I'm 49.....he has three grown children -- married with grandkids 7 grandkids.....I say let's just help out with the grandkids more.....turns into big argument --- which stems from my saying I dont want to retire from my job any time too soon....this is way too long....Good night for now.
